When a bride works at David Stark Design—one of the most renowned event production companies in the country—you know the bar has been set sky-high. For Leslie and Karl’s wedding at her family’s home on the water, we embraced the challenge with open arms, creating one of our most striking and personal designs to date.
A Wedding Full of Personal Touches
Everything about this celebration felt intimate and meaningful. Leslie made her own wedding dress, did her own makeup, and even asked a close friend to capture the day as photographer. Naturally, she also designed and built the custom arch herself—an architectural masterpiece we then covered in lush florals. The result was a seamless blend of artistry, authenticity, and romance.
White & Green With a Twist
We’ve been on a roll with white and green wedding flowers, but Leslie’s vision pushed us in an entirely new direction. She wanted her wedding to feel like a fairy tale, and we delivered a gossamer, ethereal design. The arch featured clusters of flowers—each one its own mini-masterpiece—using calla lilies, dianthus ball, hydrangea, and local love-in-a-puff. The effect was a sculptural, layered composition that felt fresh and imaginative.
Inside the sailcloth tent, smilax vines climbed across the structure, creating a lush, organic canopy. For the tables, we designed unique centerpieces wrapped in banana leaves—a thoughtful nod to Karl’s Filipino heritage—paired with elegant, textural blooms that carried the white-and-green palette through every detail.
