A Wedding in Serenbe: Gladiolas, Wildflowers, and a Whole Lot of Heart

Every now and then, a wedding comes along that reminds us exactly why we do what we do. This one, tucked into the pastoral dreamscape of Serenbe, Georgia, was just that kind of event—and not just because it was breathtaking. It was personal. It was meaningful. And it pushed our creative boundaries in the most rewarding way.

The bride—a dear friend of our founder—had a vision rooted in memory and legacy. Her grandfather was a gladiola farmer, and she wanted to honor him in the most spectacular way. So we did just that: 1,500 gladiolas, each individually placed, transformed the ceremony in the round into a sculptural tribute to love, family, and florals. The result? A towering, ethereal installation that swayed with the breeze and left guests in awe.

And as if that weren’t enough magic, the bride wore her mother’s wedding dress—unaltered—in a stunning full-circle moment that had more than a few of us tearing up behind the scenes.

But the day wasn’t without its surprises. When rain threatened the timeline, the entire vendor team came together and pulled off a seamless pivot: the ceremony was held a full 24 hours early. It was a bold move, but one that allowed for dry skies, luminous light, and a celebration that unfolded exactly as it should.

For the reception, we embraced mono-floral styling—a bold design choice where each vase showcased a single bloom variety. Think sculptural allium globes and sinuous calla lilies, arranged for maximum visual impact. These were accented with locally sourced fruits and vegetables including artichokes, watermelon, and Georgia peaches of course!

We additionally designed elegant ground statements dispersed throughout to mimic meadow-like floral clusters that spilled across the pavillion and wrapped around the room. The effect? Guests felt as if they were dining in the middle of a blooming field.

From the logistics to the emotion, this wedding was the definition of going above and beyond. It challenged us, inspired us, and reminded us that when meaning meets creativity, unforgettable things happen.
