As Mother’s Day approached, we had the honor of opening our studio doors to a group of remarkable young people brought together by Empower, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting children and teens experiencing parental loss. This wasn’t just a floral workshop—it was a day to create, connect, and find moments of joy amidst life’s hardest seasons.
Throughout the class, we guided our guests through the art of floral design, sharing tips on stem placement, color theory, and how to care for their blooms long after the day was done. But more than that, we encouraged them to think like a florist—to see beauty in unexpected places, embrace imperfections, and trust their creative instincts.
With bright blooms in hand and smiles all around, each participant left with their own completed arrangement—a tangible reminder of their creativity and resilience. And in true Empower fashion, the day didn’t end there. The group continued their afternoon with a visit to the park, nurturing the sense of community that makes Empower’s mission so extraordinary.
We’re deeply grateful for the opportunity to share our craft with these incredible young people and hope that, even for a moment, our time together brought a little more light to their day.
